Hi Jeffrey,
I just wanted to touch base, although I am still in culture shock being back home. I miss Morocco already... especially the desert. We had the most amazing trip. I just really don't know how to put it into words... it is already feeling like a dream. Morocco is so beautiful and mesmerizing. I am so surprised at people's reaction when I tell them I was there... many think it is not safe and yet we did not feel at any time unsafe. Life is really so different and in my eyes, simpler there. I don't know what I expected, but I thought the experience would be closer to my experience in India and this could not be further from the truth. India is devastatingly poor and dirty (from a pollution point of view). did not experience this in Morocco at all. Although many of the people we met were poor, they were not starving or begging. Everyone we met was happy and kind. They value their children and family and animals above all and I can relate to this completely. The desert end our trip was life changing... I will never look at water the same way. I have never met such kind and sharing people. All three of our guides where fantastic and took such good care of us. I felt like I had been to a rest spa (sans the water)... we had to do nothing but explore the desert and take many, many pictures. We laughed so much and felt at such peace and we are all looking forward to going back.
Jeffrey, I cannot begin to express the gratitude I feel at experiencing the little bit of Morocco I saw. Berber Tours is fantastic and I look forward to spreading the news and returning again for a longer desert trip in the future.
